Approach from the north (Highway 21 / 56 if coming from Calgary or Red Deer), work your way south, end the night in Drumheller.

Explore Drumheller proper, take the scenic drive down to Wayne, end the night in Rosebud.

Day 2: Drumheller and Wayne to Rosebud

Slow morning in Rosebud, then the long scenic drive east to Brooks (about two hours). Spend the rest of the day eating your way through Brooks.

Start your morning off with a delicious snack and something to drink at High Seas Coffee. They roast their own coffee in-house and bake fresh pastries daily, including cinnamon rolls, almond croissants, and maple twists.

Continue south to Trochu and settle in for lunch at the Red Bird Diner. This classic prairie roadside spot serves hearty comfort food, friendly service, and the kind of bottomless coffee that road trips were made for.

Spend the afternoon at Delidais Estate Winery, one of the more unexpected food destinations in the Badlands. Sample fruit wines made with locally grown produce, wander the orchard, and pick your own fruit in season at DNA Gardens.

Roll into Drumheller for an early dinner at Berta Burritos, the family-run food trailer serving authentic Latin American street food. Burritos, tacos, tostadas, and nachos are all home-cooked and made fresh to order. Check their socials to confirm hours and trailer location before you go.

Close out Day 1 with a pint at Valley Brewing, Drumheller's hometown craft brewery. Grab a flight to taste their rotating small-batch beers, or take a four-pack back to your stay for the night.

Head to Drum Distilling Co. for a mid-morning look behind the scenes at one of the Badlands' only craft distilleries. Sample small-batch spirits made with local ingredients, and grab a bottle to take home as a Badlands keepsake.

Take the scenic drive through Wayne's iconic eleven bridges to reach the Last Chance Saloon. Tucked into the historic Rosedeer Hotel, this spot has been serving food and drinks since 1913. Order the BBQ, soak up the old-west atmosphere, and wander the walls of historic photos before you leave.

Cross over to Rosebud for dinner at the Rosebud Mercantile. Prairie classics and home-style cooking served in a warm, welcoming dining room. Pair it with a show at the Rosebud Theatre if the timing lines up.

Start Day 3 with a coffee at the Rose Cottage Coffee Company before the drive east. House-crafted coffee and fresh baked goods to ease into the morning. Grab a pastry for the road.

Roll into Brooks late morning and head straight for the Brooks Farmers' Market. Local growers, bakers, and food makers showcase the best of what the region produces. Check ahead for market days, as hours are seasonal.

Spend the afternoon at Piston Broke Brewing, one of the standout taprooms in the region. Order a flight of small-batch craft beers and settle into the patio if the weather cooperates. Bring everyone along as the brewery is family and dog friendly!

Reset before dinner with a stop at The Steaming Cup, a beloved local coffee shop with a loyal Brooks following. Strong espresso, cold brews, and something sweet to share.
