For breakfast, head to the WHIFS (waffles, hamburgers, ice cream, flapjacks, salad) Flapjack House. This kid-friendly restaurant has a motorized model train set running on a track on the ceiling! They’ve got tasty options for the whole family with a menu featuring American breakfast classics and a kid's menu. Plus it’s on the way to the next stop of the day Tyrell Museum!

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of paleontology at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. There are immersive exhibitions with fossils millions of years old, and activities suitable for all ages like simulated digs! It’s recommended to give yourself about 2 hours to explore the museum.

After exploring billions of years of history at the Royal Tyrrell Museum, head back into downtown Drumheller for lunch from Heller Good Sandwiches. Their menu features artisan sandwiches made with fresh baked bread and locally sourced ingredients. They work with local farmers and suppliers, so their menu is constantly changing, but it’s always delicious and there is always a kid's menu!

Now that you’re fuelled up to enjoy the rest of the day, head to one of Alberta’s most iconic landmarks, the World’s Largest Dinosaur! Exactly what it sounds like, this massive dino sculpture is the largest in the world standing at nearly 90 feet tall! Take the stairs to the top for an epic view of Drumheller, and check out the gift shop for Drumheller and dino-themed gifts.

Step into a world of whimsical dioramas starring stuffed gophers, each telling a unique story of the town’s history. Wander over to the Three Hills Farmers Market for a vibrant selection of artisan handmade gifts, local artwork, and farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. Operating seasonally on Tuesdays from May through September—with special fall and Christmas markets—it’s the perfect place to connect, shop, and support local!

Next, head to Dry Island Buffalo Jump, a historical site, and popular spot for fishing, birding, canoeing, kayaking, and geocaching. With plenty of picnic areas and firepits for day use, it’s the perfect spot for a scenic drive and a picnic.
